With the summer season just beginning, Ushuaïa‘s 2018 residencies are just getting started and have already provided a number of wondrous moments and effervescent performances. The iconic open-air venue provides the perfect backdrop for high-profile artists to perform some of their most breathtaking sets alongside a jaw-dropping display of pyrotechnics. This summer, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have returned to the white isle for another season of their world-renowned Tomorrowland residency, which has proven to be a hit with fans globally.

Each of Ushuaïa’s residencies provides a unique appeal and offers something completely different to attendees. Tomorrowland’s Garden of Madness residency is no exception. For the weekly shows, the venue is transformed into a glittering fairy tale land, emanating an atmosphere that can only be compared with the Tomorrowland experience. The stage itself is decked out with flowers, transforming it into a more glorious sight than ever.

Last week, the lineup was filled with high-profile stars. Kicking off proceedings was Portuguese DJ Mad Mac, young Belgian star MATTN, and Swiss pioneer EDX. Each of the individual sets offered a completely different perspective on the electronic music scene and each artist exhibited their own unique style. The aesthetic backdrop of the venue provided the perfect platform for the artists to truly shine and completely brought their sets to life.

Next up, Belgian superstar Lost Frequencies delivered his unique blend of melodic house, with the infectious rhythm of his set echoing around the walls of Ushuaïa. The chilled nature of his performance was the perfect fit for the venue and certainly proved a hit with the audience, who danced, sang and cheered with delight at pivotal moments. As the sun set, his performance drew to a close and Ushuaïa transformed into its full nighttime glory.

As one of the most influential duos in the electronic music industry, it comes as no surprise that Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike were met by roars of approval from the crowd as soon as they took to the stage. Right from their emergence onto the stage, the energy of their set was sky high, and took the atmosphere in the venue to an extremely high level. They kicked off their set with a variety of big room anthems accompanied by monumental pyrotechnics and visuals, which allowed their performance to quickly reach maximum impact.

Through the middle of their set they moved to a balcony in the middle of the venue, where they dropped a number of the electronic music scene’s most classic anthems. This included a stunning tribute to Avicii, when the duo dropped two of his most classic hits, ‘Levels‘ and ‘Seek Bromance‘. The progressive house didn’t stop there, with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike playing a number of euphoric anthems including ‘Calling‘ by Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso as well as Tommy Trash‘s remix of ‘Ladi Dadi‘ by Steve Aoki. They also dropped a number of big room classics including ‘Tsunami‘ by DVBBS and Borgeous, and ‘Epic‘ by Sandro Silva and Quintino.

The duo were then joined on stage by Dutch megastars W&W and the four artists dropped a number of explosive anthems including ‘Chakra‘, W&W’s collaboration with Vini Vici. Naturally, the energy level went through the roof when the two duos played their collaboration ‘Crowd Control‘, as the crowd jumped from left to right in unison, creating a mind blowing moment of euphoria and adrenaline.

From start to finish the show was packed with energy, illustrating exactly why the residency has proven so popular throughout its time at Ushuaïa. The residency is due to run every Tuesday until 25th September and will feature a number of high-profile supporting artists including Diplo, Steve Angello, Steve Aoki, Lost Frequencies and many more.
