Above & Beyond pay tribute to Fatum’s Bill Hamel after death
Following the death of progressive house icon, legendary record producer and two-time Grammy nominee Bill Hamel, Above & Beyond‘s Paavo Siljamaki has paid tribute to the Fatum producer via his official Twitter account.
The news of bill’s death broke over the weekend, and with Fatum playing a big role in the Anjunafamily, it seemed only right that one of the Above & Beyond boys should issue a statement. Having played Fatum’s ‘Chocolate‘ in their recent Steel Yard London set, the Anjunabeats bosses even invited Fatum to contribute to the most recent Group Therapy radio episode.
My thoughts are with the family and friends of @Bill_Hamel from @FatumMusic who left this earth way too soon. Thank you for your contribution to this world.

In addition to his work as a producer, Hamel was also the founder of Sunkissed Records. Hamel also remixed some of the biggest names in pop-music including Britney Spears, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado and more while also landing himself two Grammy nominations. His first nod came in 2003 for his remix of Seal’s “Get It Together” which landed him a nomination for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical. He followed that up with another nomination in 2015 in the same category for a remix of “Hold On” by JES, Shant & Clint Maximus.
