Back in the Autumn of 2009, Sidney Samson‘s ‘Riverside‘ became the go-to anthem for every club-night all across the world. Tearing up festival mainstages for years to come, the iconic ‘Riverside Motherf***er!’ vocal was soon bellowed globally, with a more radio friendly version (Riverside, Let’s Go!) soon released for commercial reasons.

Fast forward almost a full decade later, and Dutch future house supremo Oliver Heldens is reviving the Riverside trend with his futuristic new anthem ‘Riverside 2099’; a unique spin on the original, which Oliver has been playing out in his recent live sets. Laced with the deep, rumbling tech-house chord patterns of his grittier alias, HI-LO, Riverside 2099 serves as a thumping dancefloor destroyer, and precedes another busy summer for the Heldeep label boss.

With various Ibiza sets in the pipeline at Cream‘s brand-new Sunday night residency, Master Heldens will also take to the main stage of Creamfields once again this year, where he will play the Horizon stage on Sunday 26th August. Catching up with We Rave You in an exclusive interview at the festival last year, Oli told us that the UK fans are the “craziest in the world“, and his statement might just prove correct when he slams out ‘Riverside 2099’ to the Daresbury faithful this summer.
