Closing the mainstage of Tomorrowland 2018, Steve Angello delivered a thunderous set to the people of Belgium at the finale of Weekend One, but not even the most fanatical of Swedish House Mafia fans could have predicted his next move, as he was joined on stage by fellow SHM colleague, Sebastian Ingrosso.
Having played the mainstage on Friday night with Axwell, Seb had been in Germany just 24 hours prior to Steve’s set, performing at Parookaville, but set tongues wagging when his Instagram story showed him to be in Belgium once again earlier on Sunday. Joining his friend on stage, the moment became an iconic of modern dance music, as the duo united hand-in-hand, facing the Tomorrowland crowd, and dropping a series of huge SHM hits together.
With Steve also paying tribute to Avicii during the set via the Swede’s 2011 anthem ‘Levels’, the SIZE Records boss also played tunes by Ax, and Seb, in the shape of ‘In My Mind’ and ‘Reload’. With Swedish House Mafia returning in 2019, as reported by We Rave You earlier this week, the moment marked the first time had performed together since the 20th anniversary of Ultra Music Festival in Miami in March of this year.
