It has now been a full 3 months since we lost Avicii, but from the opening weekend of Tomorrowland 2018, it remains clear that the Swede will remain in our hearts forever. As the details of Tim Bergling‘s suicide began to emerge following that tragic night on 20th April 2018, the world was left open-mouthed in shock as people from around the globe displayed their grief in a variety of ways.

The 28-year-old gave so much to his fans through hit songs including “Levels,” “Wake Me Up,” “Hey Brother” and more. His life was an inspiration and a warning to so many in the dance music community, as well as the world of music at large. The void of his presence will be felt for generations to come, and his memory was honoured by more than just few DJs during the performances at weekend one of Tomorrowland 2018.

Axwell & Ingrosso paused for an a capella moment with “Wake Me Up” before mashing it against the Swedish House Mafia hit “Don’t You Worry Child.” Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike celebrated similarly, mashing the lyrics against his breakout song “Seek Bromance.” Don Diablo held a moment of pause, while Hardwell played one of his biggest tunes, and Nicky Romero‘s crowd unfurled a giant Avicii flag.
