Spotify and Apple Music are leading the charge in this regard, having transformed the music landscape considerably and altered the way in which people consume music. Streaming services have risen prominently to the surface, but they have monopolized the system yet. There are a number of other channels through which music is disseminated and discovered. What is a podcast?

A podcast is the natural successor to radio. It’s essentially a long-form audio session in which hosts and participants chat, share music or create audio-based content. Unlike radio, however, podcasts aren’t restricted to the time at which their broadcasted to be heard, nor are they limited by thirty minute time slots and ad breaks. Their unique length and ability to consumed wherever and whenever makes them the perfect medium for long DJ sets, lengthy conversations and audiobooks. No secrets about where this podcast is based, but this Australian podcast focuses on electronic music of all genres. Expect to find classic house, acid, techno as well as outliers such as jazz and hip-hop featured in each episode. The podcasts also regularly feature interviews from the artists themselves, in which they outline the creative process and the thought that went into each track.

Stil vor Talent

Berlin techno giants Stil vor Talent deliver beautiful techno with their regular podcast series. Each podcast features mixes selected and curated by DJs of the label, with frequent additions from the main man, Oliver Koletzki. It’s a techno-lovers dream, and one of the best resources for sourcing new bangers.
