Alesso flaunts progressive roots at Alfa Future People festival
Gracing the mainstage at Alfa Future People festival in Russia last week was Swedish star Alesso, as he flaunted his progressive roots in a stellar performance. While the Swede’s most recent sets haven’t been filled with ID’s, Alesso has still been setting the world on fire with his timeless anthems as always.
As has been the case with many sets recently, Alesso opened with his treasured Calvin Harris collaboration; ‘Under Control‘, much to the delight of the crowd. A high-energy set filled with a plethora of mashups, the Swedish star, crammed together crowd-favourites such as Martin Garrix‘s ‘Lions In The Wild‘ and Alesso’s own ‘Cool‘, as well as ‘Save The World‘ with ‘Reload‘ in a showcase of pure progressive house. Amidst a flurry of mashups, one ID managed to make its way into the set at approximately the 47-minute mark in the video below.
The Swede has been teasing a return to his beloved progressive house sound with emphatic performances at Untold Festival earlier this month, as well as at Tomorrowland last month. With a heavy Summer touring schedule in full swing, a consistent string of releases is an unlikely outcome until after festival season gradually fades out.
