Avicii’s father accepts award on his behalf

Months after the Swede’s death, Tim Bergling aka Avicii continues to win awards for his retrospective songs and enticing melodies. After nomination for “Best Swedish Song of the Year” Wednesday at the Swedish Rockbjörnen gala in Stockholm, a special figure attended the event in place of the late Avicii and that figure was Klas Bergling, Tim’s father.

Not only was Tim nominated for the award, it was Tim who would eventually end up winning for the category. It was with his first appearance since the tragic passing of his son, that Klas Begling spoke on his sons behalf. In an excerpt from his acceptance speech Klas said,

“I am happy to have been given the opportunity to be here tonight to say thank you for this amazing award that you have rewarded Tim and Sandro and to everyone of you who have voted for ‘Without You,’ an amazing song…But also, and perhaps formost to say thank you for all and every amazing tribute you have given Tim and his music. From all his fans and others, from churches, schools, festivals and so many more. It’s been almost incomprehensible and it has warmed our hearts, all of the family, during this hard time, so again a big thank you to everyone.”
