It appears the final nail in the coffin might have been dealt for Axwell & Ingrosso as the return of Swedish House Mafia is no longer a mystery. The duo have been in the limelight for months now ever since the historic show in March at Ultra Music Festival in Miami where 2/3 of the super group Swedish House Mafia made a triumphant return. Naturally, it would make clear sense to suspend Axwell & Ingrosso for the time being while the 3 work on Swedish House Mafia, giving 110% no doubt.

The duo have a hefty summer tour they are about to wrap up for the rest of August and into September. With destinations like Creamfields, Beach Club in Canada, and Ultra Taiwan, they aren’t done just yet.  Ever since 2014 they have rocked main stages all around the world with their fiery energy and sensational live shows. From Coachella to Ultra, the boys have been recognized as one of the leading faces of EDM. They both are respected by their peers and are inherent trend setters, role models, and teachers. The eclectic duo have helped usher in innovative and exciting talent into the scene. Speaking to the Swedish publication Metro, Ingrosso stated ”

[We] will actually put it on the shelf. As I usually say, there are three dots, it’s not two plus a dot. But we will definitely still do our individual stuff.

Distilling a message from this statement, we can speculate there still may be a few shows left up their sleeve. Plus, reunion performances are no oddity for Axel Hedfors and Sebastion Ingrosso. Starting with “We Come We Rave We Love” in 2014 and possibly ending with “Dancing Alone” in 2018, the super duo have had one hell of a run. As they amalgamate back into Swedish House Mafia, we can only hope they will pick up where they left off back in 2013.

2018 has seen a staggering progressive house explosion, as Swedish House Mafia were pioneers of the genre, we can expect they will return as role models and leaders creating fresh and exciting tunes. As we will have to wait for an official announcement from the guys or their management to truly confirm the situation, we can now relish in their work and celebrate their music like never before.
