After winning the “Best DJ” award in DJ Mag France‘s annual fan vote, DJ Snake keeps adding to his stellar 2018 campaign filled by spectacular releases and impressive live performances. Most recently the French DJ and producer took to his Instagram to tease an upcoming collaboration ‘Taki Taki’ between himself, Cardi BSelena Gomez and Ozuna. The post shows director chairs for all the collaborators, teasing the track and the music video which was later confirmed as in the works by Cardi B.

This track will no doubt be a chart topper when considering the stature and combined talent of the artists involved, we can expect DJ SNAKE will have an important responsibility to merge the diverse and unique styles of these artists.

DJ SNAKE started the year off slowly, with his first release of the year, ‘Magenta Riddim‘ coming in late February. Despite this, the track has peaked at #12 on the French charts and #16 on the U.S. Dance charts. ‘Magenta Riddim’ has also generated a great cult following around the world, inspiring remixes and dance videos, including this video from a school in France. Since then he has released more incredible music, collaborating with the likes of Yellow Claw and Mercer and delivering spectacular live performances all around the world.

In a recent interview, the French DJ and producer admitted he almost quit music in 2013 but was given his chance by Diplo, with whom we would later form the incredibly successful Major Lazer.

I was trying to send [the song] to all the big dudes…and the only dude that emailed me back was Diplo. I think he said something like, ‘Wow, that’s a game changer. I want this for Mad Decent.

You can see DJ SNAKE’s Instagram post below. Featuring director chairs for all the collaborators on the track and a small one for Kulture, Cardi B’s daughter.
