Undoubtably one of the finest record labels in electronic music is Release Records. Piloted by the UK’s top progressive house duo Third Party, Release have built a reputation on quality and consistency, with every record carefully produced, picked, and perfected ready for the ears of the electronic music community. With Pete K well established as their front-running resident alongside Third Party, it was time for Release to gain another member to their residential group. Though numerous artists have produced a single track on Release Records – Jose De Mara, Crusy, Larry Mendes, Matt Nash, Sebjak, and more – a certain Australian trio have made 3 prior appearances, and are back with their new track. Scouted out by Third Party, and labelled as their ‘ones to watch‘, here marks the return of Johnathon, Michael, and Timmy, more widely known by their surname: Sentinel.

The trio have been on studio lockdown over the last couple of years, with the only one release in the last 18 months being their remix with Jebu of Third Party and Martin Garrix‘s collaboration ‘Lions In The Wild‘. Successful releases like ‘Start It‘ and ‘Real Sound‘ both with Harry Bass and Jonnie Macaire – Third Party – as well as ‘Lights On‘ have built their name as one of the best rising acts within the scene, and their return further asserts this.

Dropping ‘Orbit‘ on Release Records, Sentinel have adapted their sound from previous releases. Formerly aiming for a heavy hitting, club banger, the trio have gone for a different approach. Resembling the likes of Dirty South with the sound design, the Aussie’s have smashed this one out of the park. Keeping it progressive throughout, the track is atmospheric and has a distinct ambience fitting with the space-like title ‘Orbit‘. The lead sound is extremely influential to the final product, driving the track and giving it a certain uniqueness via its simplicity and effectiveness.

The return of Sentinel has been somewhat long overdue, as their early tracks created so much promesse, and resulting in performances at Third Party’s Release Records label nights. Receiving support on previous releases by the likes of Steve Angello, Martin Garrix, and still to this day by Corey James and Third Party, Johnathon, Michael, and Timmy have got the industry names behind their productions, and ‘Orbit‘ is sure to draw in even more names on support. Back with a bang, Sentinel have bounced back in phenomenal fashion, and this one is certainly worth a few minutes of your time. Watch out for these guys; now they’re back there’s no stopping them!
