Spotify debuts new playlist highlighting this summers most played hits

Approaching the end of yet another summer, the year of 2018 will undoubtably be remembered for it’s hits. Of course there are plenty of stand out hits every year, and every year new artists are discovered and put the world on notice, but it was this summer that really shook things up. From usuals like Calvin Harris, Drake, and Maroon 5 to chart topping newcomers like Dua Lipa, Juice WRLD, and Cardi B, Spotify has complied a playlist of this summer’s hottest tunes.

In the comprehensive playlist, Spotify breaks down the top 20 songs of the summer are rather dominated by one artist and if you have a certain hip-hop gargantuan in mind right now, you’re most likely correct. That’s right, unsurprisingly it was Drake who claimed the #1 spot with his summer smash, ‘In My Feelings‘. Not only did ‘In My Feelings‘ claim the #1 spot, but Drake also had another 4 tunes including, ‘God’s Plan‘, ‘Nice For What‘, ‘Don’t Matter to Me‘ and ‘Nonstop‘ featured amongst the top 20.

Despite Drake’s continual chart dominance, a number of this summer’s favorite electronic and dance hit’s also made the run down. Tunes that fell amongst the bunch included Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa’s ‘One Kiss‘, Tiesto, Preme, Dzeko, and Post Malone‘s ‘Jackie Chan‘ and Jonas Blue featuring Jack & Jack’s ‘Rise‘.
