Ultra integrates ‘Ultracoin’ crypto-currency for upcoming Ultra Taiwan

With the seemingly unstoppable rise of ‘cryptocurrency‘ into our everyday lives and its cultural facets, it was merely a matter of time and when rather than if, that it would be introduced into the world of Dance music. Always at the helm of game changing tactics, the introduction of cryptocurrency is being done by none other than Ultra Festival at the upcoming Taiwan edition, which is touted to see at least 30,000 attendees.

With this power move, the Ultra franchise will be launching the ‘Ultracoin’ cryptocurrency which will be used by festival goers at Taiwan to complete their transactions. Facilitating this into a possibility are Pundi X, who will be the official token provider and the on-site payment partner for Ultra in this ambitious project. Ultra Taiwan is set to take place on the 8th and 9th of September and will be playing host to stars such as Martin Garrix, Zedd and The Chainsmokers among others.

The interesting proposition still remains as to how far the journey of ‘Ultracoin’ will go in the world of Ultra Franchise. But certainly, if trends are to be believed, cryptocurrency is here to stay for the long run. Ambitious though it may be, this advent of cryptocurrency onto one of Dance music’s biggest stages is a surely a welcomed one.
