We all are familiar with the vocal mix, but do you remember the time when it was just the instrumental? One of the biggest tracks of 2011 was Alesso and Sebastian Ingrosso’s summer jam titled “Calling“. The melody is superb, the crowds reaction priceless, and the memories are incredible. In 2011, many of the biggest tracks in the EDM world were melodic, progressive, and contained many similar elements that are present in the instrumental version of “Calling”. Here’s to another 7 more years of “Calling”!

The prowess of “Calling” exists in the fact that you can still hear it during live shows today. Artists like Axwell & Ingrosso, Alesso, and Otto Knows all have played this record well into 2018. Every year, artists take a new spin on the track adding in unique vocals whether they be from Whitney Houston, Bazzi, Candi Station, and One Republic. Currently, Axwell & Ingrosso are playing the record outfitted with the luscious acapella “Apologize” from One Republic. A few years back, it was decked out with “You’ve Got The Love” and Houston’s legendary “I Wanna Dance With Somebody“.

When the track was released in 2011, it was very ahead of its time with cutting edge sound design and flawless energy. The track became a staple in the sets of artists like Avicii, Zedd, and other progressive house leaders like Matisse & Sadko and Arty. Fans and artists alike fell in love with the flow of the melody and how beautifully the track could be mashed up with popular acapella’s of the time.

Fall in love with “Calling” all over again!
