Released last year Snails‘ first studio album ‘The Shell’ has now received a remixed version, full of remixes by industry heavyweights. The Canadian Dubstep and Trap producer released 10 new interpretations of some of his most famous tracks. Having released music on labels such as OWSLA and Monstercat and making music with artists like JAUZ,  the 30-year old is one of the most established DJs in the bass music scene. Now, he launched his own label Slugz Music, where he can present his and others crazy productions. Snails himself found the right words for his new label:

I want to release music that really inspires me and is just as weird as me.

Snails celebrated the launch of the label with the release of ‘The Shell (Remixes)’. The album includes remixes by producers such as Kill The NoiseSVDDEN DEATHVirtual Riot and even Snails himself. Kill The Noise’s remix of Snails’ and NGHTMRE’s collab ‘Only Want U’ is a bass-heavy trap tune, that will make your head bang. In comparison, the remix of ‘Smack Up’ by SYDDEN DEATH features some high-pitched synthesizers, which make the remix a really special and unique one. Snails himself teamed up with German producer Virtual Riot for their remix of ‘WFSU’. The remix combines the ‘weird’ sound of Snails with the signature sound of Virtual Riot, creating an extraordinary tune that will make subwoofers explode. Megalodon’s remix of ‘Russian Roulette’ focuses more on ‘traditional’ dubstep sound, but is still nothing short of amazing.

The Remix LP of ‘The Shell’ is a perfect start for Slugz Music and it is going to be very interesting to see which releases are next to the newly founded label. But one thing is for sure: We can prepare ourselves for unique and special releases! But for now, check out the 10 amazing remixes for ‘The Shell’!
