Armin van Buuren – Lifting You Higher [ASOT900 Anthem]

During a phenomenal Amsterdam Dance Event that involved a brand new showcase, feature length radio show airing, and an extra special track premiere, Armin van Buuren reminded the world as to why he is one of the true legends of the electronic music scene. Bringing his collaborative alias – alongside Rank 1‘s Benno de Goeij – named Gaia to life in a rare performance on the Wednesday night of the week long event, the 41 year old Dutchman is the king of raising the bar, whatever it may be. With the celebrations of A State Of Trance 900 just a few months away, Armin set about revealing the anthem for the extra special event in style, rising on a platform strapped to a crane 60 metres in the air. The theme of ‘Lifting You Higher‘ also replicates the title of the ASOT900 anthem, which has just officially dropped via Armin’s streaming platforms.

After revealing the theme, and playing the new track for the first time, van Buuren also shared the first special guest announcement for the main event in Utrecht: Above & Beyond. Bringing in the trance legends as special guests fits well with the nature of the new release, which explores an older trance sound combined with a modern approach. Reverting back to a similar sound that was taken in earlier productions. With the bouncing melody, deep intro, smooth chord progressions, and iconic trance euphoria running from start to finish, there is certainly no denying that this is one of Armin van Buuren’s finest releases of recent years. Moving away from the psy trance sound that has populated many of his trance productions, the Dutch producer has truly rolled back the years for this one, and if the track is any signification of the way in which the event itself will unfold, attendees are in for a treat! ASOT900 is set to visit Madrid and Kiev also, so if you aren’t from Holland and don’t want to travel then not to worry!
