When the legendary club Space Ibiza closed its doors two years ago, after an amazing 27 years on the white isle, Carl Cox immediately announced that Space would eventually return in some form. After playing his final 9-hour set at Ibiza’s most iconic venue, ‘Coxy’ soon revealed that he had ‘lost his home’ and that he was more than willing to get involved in the revival of the club in due time. Therefore it comes as no surprise that Cox now lives up to his promise, and more and more details about the new plans for a return of Space Ibiza have started to surface.

Just about two weeks ago, Carl Cox already revealed the team behind the building of a new ‘Space’ club, with close friend and former Space owner Pepe Rosello as one of the driving forces behind the new plans once again. Besides the 75-year old Rosello, Dave Browning (Ibiza promoter for 15 years, now working on the Game Over parties) and Juan Arenas, Space Ibiza’s former general manager, are set to be part of the team. Even though there still isn’t any solid news on when and where the new Space will return, we do know now that it’s happening for sure.

Rosello recently released the following statement about the new venture:

“Space is a way of living the music, which is part of our shared experiences in the most vibrant moments of our life. The roots of Ibiza extend to new destinations with the joy, passion and enthusiasm for this adventure, to return to our house, the island.”

Around the same time, Carl Cox was quoted:

“To pave the new way for the future of Space is really exciting, and now forming a partnership with Pepe, Juan, and Dave Browning to run the newly-formed team, it feels solid in the way that we are a family team, and I feel we can bring everything back to where it belongs… We already have some exciting news for next year, and we will tell you all more about that nearer the time. For now, I am very happy with my new role for Space, and I can happily fly the Space flag high.”

With this being said, it sounds like 2019 will already have some Space-related surprises in store for all Ibiza visitors. Check out the recent tweet from the legendary club, introducing the new team behind the future plans for the revival of the iconic club.
