Hardwell’s iconic hit ‘Cobra’ turns 7 years old

When Hardwell recently announced, in his own words, that he would ‘clear my schedule indefinitely’, many dance fans reacted with a mixture of sadness and shock. The Dutch producer has become one of the most popular names in the scene in recent years thanks to his thunderous productions and energetic live shows. But rewind 7 years and you’ll remember ‘Cobra’, one of the DJ’s first big breakthrough hits.

Born in October 2011, the track showcased the extreme future potential of the Breda-born star, who was soon catapulted into the limelight when supported by Tiesto on the legend’s Musical Freedom label. Packed with the explosive big-room sounds we’ve come to expect from the Revealed star, ‘Cobra’ fused vibrant chord patterns with rich hooks to create a huge festival thumper.

Having later gone on to win the accolade of DJ Mag’s number #1 DJ in the world in both 2013, and 2014, Hardwell is a true legend of the scene, and you can take a jog down nostalgia avenue by checking out the production below ahead of his final live show in Amsterdam next week:
