After making some sizable donations in the wake of World Suicide Prevention Day, Kygo has been in the news for simply the best of reasons. Not only is he doing phenomenal things and supporting important causes, but the Norwegian, in conjunction with his manager, Myles Shear, have just announced a massive partnership with Sony Music to debut his new label Palm Tree Records. The tropical house mastermind plans on using the label as a sort of A&R project to not only debut fresh new music but to find talented up-and-coming artists.

In a statement from Sony Music, CEO Rob Stringer had this to say about the new partnership,

“Kygo is one of the most forward-thinking and exciting artists in music today, and Myles is among the most innovative, creative artist developers around. This feels like a natural extension of our partnership as we develop together the musical output of Palm Tree Records.”

Alongside with Kygo’s management, Palm Tree Records will work in complete unify with Sony to create one of the industry’s first notable high profile, full-service infrastructures. Between coaching and mentoring young prospects with Kygo at the head of the helm, top-tier management advice, solicitations and opportunities and the backing of Sony Music and their exclusive resources, it seems like an opportunity too good to be true for aspiring artists. Although there are currently no initial signings to the developing outfit, you can sure believe that Kygo & team will have their eyes and ears on the ground looking for the best and brightest undiscovered talents to build a cohesive future with.

With the launch of Palm Tree Records, we have no doubt Kygo & team will be building out one of the most developmental and inclusive environments in the industry.
