After nearly 7 years a new surprise surfaces from Mike Posner about, Avicii’s break out hit ‘Levels.‘ The iconic hit is a staple in the commercialization of dance music across the world but could have been monumentally different from what we know to be today. We all know Mike Posner and Avicii have a bit of history working with each other – albeit, it’s in a bit of an exaggerated form, but a true story nonetheless in which, Posner who was dealing with a bout of depression took a pill from a stranger and it’s brought to light in Mike’s 2016 hit, ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza.‘ However, the two had much more of a friendly relationship other than what Mike had to say in the tune. In a recent interview which surfaced via New York’s radio station Alt 92.3 – the Detroit native speaks to his true connection with the late star saying,

“…Tim, he always liked my stuff and my writing, so he would always – like every 6 months or so, send me some tracks he was working on, and ask me to write to them. He actually sent me ‘Levels.‘”

When asked if there was a version of him writing to the tune, he actually further reiterates that the track wasn’t a one-take recording. He actually sent several versions back and forth to Avicii because he just couldn’t find the right tenor,

“Yea..[I recorded] like six of them because I couldn’t get them right – you know I just kept messing up…I mean they were good but not like the thing.”

With the shocking new revelation and a mix of plenty posthumous productions Avicii has in the store – maybe there’s a slight chance the two could finally end up on a project together after years of trying to make something happen.
