Afrojack is a man who needs no introduction at all, so lets cut to the chase. The Dutchman has been back to work, and absolutely killed his latest track, remixing Nicky Romero‘s collaboration with Stadiumx into a big room banger. What a year 2018 has been for music, and just as things started to get set for winter, a Nicky Romero X Stadiumx X Afrojack track is exactly what was needed! This is one that you just can’t miss out on!
Maintaining the melodic feel from the original, but completely re-layering the track, Afrojack has injected his signature sound from the start. Bringing the track through with a soft pluck sound, he bringing in an arp that could lead you to reminisce the sound of Axwell‘s incredible mix of Ivan Gough and Feenixpawl’s track ‘In My Mind‘. But, as you just start to get the sense that a melodic progressive drop is about to blend its way in, the 31-year-old flips the track completely. The snares drop in, the riser gets the energy flowing, and Afrojack’s huge big room sound is back with a bang. Dropping in with plenty of heat, the track is ready for the club, main stage, or literally anyway. Its diversity from break into drop makes it appealing to any DJ, as the euphoria of the breakdown contrasts the deep energy of the drop, and keeps the crowd on a high right through. Alongside Afrojack’s stunning remix, Thomas Gold has kept the progressive sound from the original flowing, but has put his own distinctive sound on it to make something extra special for the Protocol Recordings label boss, who will have had no questions in approving of his – and Afrojack’s – remixes.
The remix has dropped ahead of Nicky Romero’s huge Protocol Recordings showcase which is set to take place at ADE next week. Set to perform on the night are, Matisse & Sadko, Deniz Koyu, Stadiumx, Teamworx, Corey James and many more. The event is set to be one of the biggest highlights on the ADE calendar, grab your ticket here.
