The wait is over for fans of Australian group Rüfüs Du Sol, as the Los Angeles-based trio have released their phenomenal new nine-track album titled ‘Solace’. After dropping their platinum debut album ‘Atlas’ in 2013 and its successor ‘Bloom’ three years later, ‘Solace’ is the group’s third studio album and it may very well be on of the best electronic albums of the year.

After recording their debut album on the Australian east coast and their sophomore album in Berlin, Rüfüs Du Sol decided to move to Los Angeles last year, to fully focus and work on the new album. Once again Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt have succeeded in perfectly capturing the surroundings and sentiments of their recording residency through their music. Moods and flavours of the city’s shady side (instead of the Hollywood glitter and glamour), and the emptiness of the Californian desert are incorporated into each and every track on ‘Solace’.

The album’s mood takes listeners through somewhat of a personal love story, as the band’s drummer James Hunt explains:

“The record is more personal and vulnerable than we anticipated. We had some of the most amazing times in the studio, as well as some of the most isolated, lonely times. That contrast naturally bled into what we were writing, which is why solace is our ode to finding peace in a time of distress.”

Absolute highlights on ‘Solace’ are the album’s opening track ‘Treat You Better’, as it tells the band’s emotional, bittersweet journey through what they call “a testing period for all of us individually”, and the previously released track ‘Lost In My Mind’, which saw daylight just last month. Rüfüs Du Sol will start their world tour in support of the album on October 24th in the US before heading over to Canada, Europe and their home country of Australia on New Year’s Day. Check out the band’s complete touring schedule right here.

‘Solace’ is out now on Reprise Records and you can listen to it down below.
