Exclusive interview: Spinnin’ Records to host two huge ADE showcases

As one of the world’s most influential labels, Spinnin’ Records continues to dominate the electronic music scene with an abundance of huge releases from prominent artists. As well as exciting releases, the label often hosts huge events, regularly returning to Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) with star-studded lineups. This year is no different, with not one but two Spinnin’ events planned on 17th and 18th October.

Both events are due to take place at iconic venue AIR Amsterdam, which is the perfect venue for intimate parties featuring huge artists. On 17th October Spinnin’ will host their Spinnin’ Sessions event with a lineup featuring Mike Williams, Lucas & Steve, Curbi, Bassjackers and many more. On 18th October Spinnin’ are hosting a Spinnin’ Deep showcase with artists including Kryder, EDX, Mike Mago, Zonderling and many more set to perform. The event is also set to play host to a mystery guest and judging by the rest of the lineup, it’s undoubtedly going to be a huge star.

We caught up with Steven De Graaf, Director of Global Partnerships & Live at Spinnin’ Records to talk about the upcoming ADE events.

You’re set to leave your stamp on ADE once again with some massive events this year! How do you plan to go bigger and better than last year?

Last year was a big success for Spinnin’ Records at ADE with a club Takeover of AIR Amsterdam. We decided to continue to build on this success on one hand and integrate a new concept into the mix to even go bigger. This year we will organise the first Spinnin’ Gaming Tournament as part of the takeover of AIR Amsterdam, where a mix of DJ’s, gaming influencers, local celebs and fans will celebrate an afternoon of connecting gaming and music together.

You’re hosting 2 gigantic parties at AIR Nightclub once again! What makes this venue so special?

AIR Amsterdam is one of the night club landmarks in Amsterdam. It’s an amazing club which enables us to showcase the best that we can offer to our fans. Really a great venue for our events.

This year’s Spinnin’ Sessions features some of 2018’s biggest movers & shakers, with the likes of Bassjackers, Curbi, Mike Williams and Deepend headlining. How did come to the decision to feature these artists?

The Spinnin’ Sessions lineups are always built of a mix of new arising talent, established artists and surprise DJ acts. We want to integrate as many great artists as we have and try to vary in different styles and genres, giving each territory the best possible music fit for our fans.

Spinnin’ Deep also features a mammoth lineup, with EDX, Kryder, Moguai, The Him and CID. How did you manage to feature the perfect mixture of rising artists and industry veterans?

Coming to a great lineup is always a very hectic and challenging part of our business, but as we work with so many great artists within Spinnin’ Records we have a lot to choose from. Building the lineup is generally a process of checking availability, building a mix of artists and having something special up our sleeves to surprise our fans and give them all a night to remember.

Your pop-up store is making a return once again! What is the goal for this year’s edition?

The Spinnin’ Popup Store together with our events at AIR Amsterdam are the local headquarters of Spinnin’ Records during the biggest global dance music gathering. We set out to give our fans, new DJ talent and industry people a Spinnin’ home during this week. A place where they can connect with our brand, with our music and our artists.

What should fans look out for during ADE this year? Which rising Spinnin’ artists should fans keep their eyes on?

Check out our full program at www.spinninrecords.com/events because we hope the full program caters to the need of our fans. We are extremely happy with the full program and hope to see many of our fans during this very special week.
