Avicii wins ‘Best Swedish Act’ at MTV EMAs
On Sunday, MTV hosted their Europe Music Awards (EMAs), rewarding many artists for their achievements over the past year. One of the artists who received an award was the late Avicii, who picked up the EMA for ‘Best Swedish Act’. Naturally, this was an incredibly popular result, and fans around the world were happy to see Avicii recognised in this way. Ever since Avicii’s death rocked the music industry earlier this year, fans and fellow artists have continued to mourn the loss.
Avicii was not the only DJ/producer to pick up an award at the EMAs this year, with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike picking up the award for ‘Best Belgian Act’ and Marshmello being named as the ‘Best Electronic Artist’. The rest of the results were fairly diverse but focused primarily on pop artists like Dua Lipa, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B and Shawn Mendes.
