Calvin Harris has no doubt become one of the biggest acts in the dance music scene over the past few years. Releasing hit after hit and consistently delivering entertaining shows across the globe. Most recently, the Scottish DJ and producer has been very active on his Twitter, replying to many fan questions. Recently, he has been in the news for showing displeasure with the current direction of EDM when asked if he will return to it at some point.

EDM has been sad, slow songs for years now. Doesn’t have anything in common with the music I love to make. 2010-2014 edm was more house influenced to me. Anyway now I’m out the bubble and making big records with amazing singers that sound like house music to me… ??‍♂️

More recently, he gave his fans a list of his biggest inspirations when it comes to music. It is definitely interesting to see someone who has inspired so many around the world take the time to acknowledge those he looks up to. In the list, we can see some real legends of the music industry and pioneers of the dance music scene like Fatboy SlimChemical Brothers and the legendary label Defected Records.
