The Chainsmokers – Beach House

The world biggest Future Bass act; The Chainsmokers, have released their brand new single ‘Beach House’. Taking a slightly different approach with their new single, ‘Beach House’ harbours an alternative feel as opposed to their lead synth-heavy sounds in previous singles.  The track was recently included in their newly-released Ep; ‘Sick Boy…Beach House’a re-released version of their ‘Sick Boy…Siren’ EP.

In a recent tweet, the duo gave a short insight into their inspiration behind the track:

“Really love this song as well cause we tried to get back to our roots on this with that classic OG Chainsmoker feel. And we were listening to a lot of beach house

Drew Taggart often refers to “Beach House” in the single, however, contrary to popular belief, he isn’t referring to a literal beach house. Taggart is, in fact, referencing the Baltimore-based Dream Pop duo, made up of Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally, who are best known for their indie-rock/alternative sound. The Chainsmokers’ inspiration drawn from the duo can be distinctly heard in the verses and pre-choruses, as they merge their own Pop-inspired sounds with other acoustic elements.
