With The Chainsmokers continuing to divide opinion across the EDM world, one thing that can’t be denied is that the American pair sure know how to cook up a commercial success! Responsible for hits like ‘Roses’, the duo have elevated themselves to the echelons of dance music’s most popular producers in recent years and recently decided to announce their top 5 EDM tracks of all time on Reddit.

A firm list which sees ‘Leave The World Behind’ from Swedish House Mafia and Laidback Luke take the 5th spot, the list also includes ‘Seek Bromance’ by Tim Berg, Avicii’s first big breakthrough hit in the summer of 2010. Taking bronze on the Chainsmokers list is the sensational Alesso remix of ‘Pressure’ which still goes OFF in live sets in 2018! With Las Vegas club resident Calvin Harris snatching silver thanks to his huge 2011 whopper ‘Feel So Close’, the Chainsmokers have named ‘Strobe’ by deadmau5 as their favourite of all time, and deservedly so.

With Joel Zimmerman’s original a full 10 minutes and 37 seconds in length, the track – much like Eric Prydz’s ‘Opus’ – can be compared to a fully orchestral production as much as it can to EDM, and is a true thing of beauty. Though some tracks like ‘Levels’, ‘Adagio For Strings’, ‘Greyhound’ or ‘Reload’ can count themselves unlucky not to have made the final 5, this is certainly a very commendable list from the duo, and you can relive ‘Strobe’ in full below.

On a side-note, it’s interesting to note that all the tracks named in this list were made between 2009 and 2011, considered by many as the ‘golden era of EDM.’ With iconic trio Swedish House Mafia returning in 2019 with a series of new tracks, we have our fingers crossed that the return of these days is not too far away!
