Who could ever forget the year 1999, the year that Finnish DJ/trance producer and ‘Sandstorm’ legend Darude (real name Toni-Ville Henrik Virtanen) came bursting onto today’s electronic dance music scene. His epic trance track has become one of the most iconic tracks to define trance as a genre – and, in fact, electronic dance music as a whole. Even though the 43-year old Fin never really stopped producing, he mostly remained under the radar to the bigger mainstream EDM crowd, despite releasing a total of 4 studio albums since ‘Sandstorm’.

His last album Moments’ saw daylight in 2015 and did particularly well in North America, Canada and Australia. Ever since that day, Darude simply can’t seem to get enough of Australia. The Sydney Youth Orchestra even performed an amazing version of ‘Sandstorm’ in 2016, and the Fin toured through Europe, the US and Australia in 2017 with his ‘Endless Summer’ tour. Now Darude has returned once again with a brand new single titled ‘Timeless’ ft. Australian singer JVMIE and he has just embarked on yet another tour Down Under in support of his new music. This month, Darude is set to play headline shows in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, as well as festival sets at Gold Coast’s Hi Life Festival and Cairns’ Grass Is Greener Festival, all in light of his ‘Timeless Tour’.

‘Timeless’ sees Darude collaborate with JVMIE, also known as Jamie Lee Wilson. The Australian singer is a US Billboard Top 5 artist, who gained instant fame with her 2017 collaboration with Dave Audé titled ‘Back 2 Love’. ‘Timeless’ is an exceptionally well-produced trance anthem that takes you back to the ‘good old days’ of trance music, without sounding outdated or out of place in today’s music scene. Its infectious, catchy melody and euphoric synth pads combine perfectly well with JVMIE’s soothing vocals, that seem to be the perfect fit for just about any trance anthem.

‘Timeless’ is Darude’s second release on Gareth Emery Ashley Wallbridge‘s imprint Garuda Music and you can listen to it down below via Spotify.
