Arguably one of Hardwell‘s most popular hits, ‘Apollo‘ was released during the period that many would hail as the peak of electronic music. It was released around one year prior to Hardwell being named as the world’s number one DJ for the first time, and undoubtedly played a heavy part in allowing him to reach the top. Now, the iconic track has turned 6 years old.

With Amba Shepherd‘s heavenly vocals, ‘Apollo’ is the perfect balance between emotion and euphoria. The synths during the drop are what make it so instantly recognisable, allowing it to stand out as one of the biggest hits of 2012. Proving its popularity, the track has almost amassed 40 million streams on Spotify, an impressive achievement considering it was one of Hardwell’s earliest releases. The track marked the start of Hardwell dominating the industry, as he went on to be crowned DJ Mag’s number one DJ two years in a row. From there he continued to headline festivals and became one of the most popular figures the electronic music industry has ever seen.
