Maceo Plex unveils new label with a focus on ‘Personal Experimentation’
Maceo Plex is a Cuban/American DJ/Producer known throughout the scene for his innovative production style and ability to stand out from others within the genre he gravitates toward. Recently big news has been stirred up for the DJ as he announces “MPLX”, a label with a primary focus on his personal experimentation as an artist. Electro and tech house would be considered to be the musicians forte however with this new move, we might see him move outwards into new uncharted territory.
The producer described how this label will be a platform that will allow him to seek out new ways of curating and producing his music. The esteemed producer/DJ has already worked with many other sub-labels. On top of Ellum, the sub-project label Ellum Black, and Lone Romantic. The labels foster many creative musicians such as Solitary Daze and many others. Fan should be marking their calendars because on December 7th the maiden EP Mutant Romance will be landing!
There are many other exciting projects brewing as well, on February 9th Maceo Plex will be rocking out in New York City alongside Helena Hauff, Danny Daze, and Axel Boman. We cannot wait for what is in store with the new project “MPLX”, perhaps another genre crossover?
