In emphatic style, the Pyro Records main man Point Blvnk has returned with a new release featuring Johnny Funk entitled ‘Tear It Up.’ Having been roughly 3 months since his previous original release, ‘Runaway,‘ the German has come back with guns blazing with the debut of his new bass house heater. If we’re including remixes, however, Point Blvnk did remix Dario Rodriguez & Mark Bale’sLit Like Fire‘ which debuted at the end of August, so that would make his layover closer to two months.

No matter, Point Blvnk has proven he’s certainly an artist to keep an eye on establishing himself as one of Germany’s most diversified electronic artists. Gaining support from artists such as Tiësto, Afrojack, Firebeatz, Timmy Trumpet and more, Point Blvnk’s dynamic style has some of EDM’s biggest names swarming to support and it shows in his releases. Releasing through Panda Funk, Ministry of Sound and Armada to name just a few of the major labels backing the DJ, there’s certainly plenty more to come from Point Blvnk.

As far as the tune is concerned, ‘Tear It Up‘ makes an immediate impression on listeners with its full throttle bass lines and aggressive leads. With heavy inspiration from collaborator Johnny Funk, the tune resembles a stylistically similar take on JOYRYDE’s UK garage-inspired sound. Point Blvnk & Johnny Funk certainly take this one to the next level with some atypical synth selections. Nonetheless, it’s those specific synth selections that bring the tune to life, making those elements pop as a differentiator to that aforementioned JOYRYDE-esque style. This is what truly makes the tune such a unique take on the popularized style and sound. So if you’re a JOYRYDE, or heck – simply a bass house fan, this one is for you!
