Since successfully reviving his Purple Haze alter ego in the Spring of 2017, Sander van Doorn has been dropping banger after banger under his tech-trance moniker. Van Doorn initially started the side project back in 2005 already, releasing a series of breathtaking singles like ‘Adrenaline’‘Bliksem’ and ‘Hymn 2.0’, all characterized by euphoric melodies, long breaks and driving bass lines. By the time 2012 came around, the 39-year old Dutchman decided to (re)focus on just Sander van Doorn again, but after a 5-year hiatus, he surprised many of his longterm trance fans by bringing back to life the Purple Haze project.

After releasing the amazing singles ‘Neiloj’, ‘Contrast’, and ‘Choir 1.0’, Sander van Doorn even released an entire 13-track Purple Haze album titled ‘SPECTRVM’ in the Fall of 2017The album, probably one of the best albums of the year 2017, saw an official album release party during the Amsterdam Dance Event that year, with van Doorn premiering several of the album’s new tracks. “I simply love to explore the deeper and darker side to Sander van Doorn”, he commented.

Since the successful release of ‘SPECTRVM’, van Doorn continued to produce some phenomenal new Purple Haze tracks. Earlier this year he released the album’s 4th single ‘Light Me Up’ ft. BONUS Check, and after that he has dropped two new singles on Armada’s legendary sublabel Armind. ‘Bergen’ and ‘Call Me’ again were exceptionally well-produced tech-trance anthems and it just doesn’t stop there, as Purple Haze adds another brilliant new track to his discography today with the release of The Hyll’.

Purple Haze premiered the new single as a Mystery ID when he performed at Transmission Shanghai last week and the response of the crowd was huge. Armin van Buuren also aired it last night during his latest edition of A State of Trance. ‘The Hyll’ is again being released on Armada Music’s sublabel Armind and you can listen to it now via Spotify down below.
