Tiësto in concert turns 14 year old today
If ever you wondered why Tiësto is considered to be the ultimate founding father of electronic music, then simply cast your mind back to exactly 14 years ago today. Taking to Arnhem’s 34,00 capacity Gelredome venue, the King of trance delivered a mind-blowing 84-track set during a mammoth evening in the Dutch city.
Selling out the evening in just 1.5 hours, Tiësto left his mark on the history of dance music with ‘Magik’ the theme of the night, a word which later became a trademark for legendary producer, who curated his own ‘Magikal Journey’ album. Packed with fireworks and a series of visually spectacular sights, the 3-hour show was captured and then produced as a full film, shot from all corners of the stadium, and lets you relive as if you’re a part of the audience.
Spinning tracks from the likes of Kyau & Albert, Ferry Corsten, and Paul Oakenfold, Tiësto also dropped a flurry of his own classics, including ‘Adagio For Strings’ and ‘Silence.’ Exactly 14 years on from the truly incredible evening, you can relive the magic – in full – below:
