Home Uncategorized Woodstock Festival rumoured to have approached Daft Punk, SHM & more

Rumours have been circulating around a 50th-anniversary Woodstock celebration that is set to take place in 2019 ever since Michael Lang recently confirmed plans. He stated that plans are well underway for a 2019 festival that will celebrate 5 decades since the festival took place in 1969, headlined by Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Janis Joplin and more. Now, the latest rumours have suggested that the organisers have approached electronic music royalty, including Daft Punk and Swedish House Mafia.

The tweet features a number of slides with a mixture of details about the supposed plans for the Woodstock anniversary. According to the tweet, the event will be called ‘Journey On’, and will be headlined by iconic figures in each genre. There is even a list of EDM artists that are said to have been approached to perform at the event: Daft Punk, Swedish House Mafia, deadmau5, Avicii, Skrillex, Steve Aoki and The Chainsmokers. The inclusion of Avicii’s name led some to believe that the slides were fake, but the owner of the account states later on in the thread that these documents were created prior to Avicii’s tragic death in April. If the rumours are true, and the approached artists agree to perform, the 50th anniversary event could be set to be the highlight of the 2019 festival calendar.

Take a look at the tweet below.
