Axwell & Hard Rock Sofa’s classic remix of ‘Blow Up’ turns 8 years old
Few labels in the dance music world command instant respect in the way Axtone Records does. The label of Swedish superstar Axwell is responsible for a wealth of the most impressive prog-gems ever created, including Shapov‘s ‘Belong‘, CamelPhat‘s ‘Paradigm’, and Don Diablo‘s ‘Starlight (Could You Be Mine)’. But on this day in 2011, the imprint was busy launching ‘Blow Up’, a mighty record from Hard Rock Sofa.
The added spice in this particular recipe came via an injection of mainstage-ready prog-heaven thanks to Thomas Gold, and Swedish House Mafia legend Axwell himself. Now turning exactly 8 years old, this timeless classic still sounds as beautiful today as it did back in January 2011. With Axtone enjoying recent success via acts like D.O.D, Tom Staar, and Jack Wins, we eagerly await the label’s next move in 2019, with their confirmation as stage hosts at Tomorrowland 2019 already cemented.
