Sometimes you simply happen to stumble upon some amazing new music while browsing the internet, SoundCloud in particular in this case. While checking out Obsessive Progressive, we noticed a brilliant reworked version of deadmau5‘s 2008 smash hit ‘Not Exactly’ by British progressive- and tech house prodigy Cristoph. The talented producer was actually the first DJ/producer to sign on Eric Prydz’s ‘Pryda Presents’ imprint last year, a definitive nod of approval and sign of recognition from the Swedish superstar.

Cristoph (Christopher CJ Costigan) is a Newcastle based DJ/producer, who celebrated a number of successful releases last year, such as the tracks ‘Voice of Silence’ ft. ARTECHE and ‘Vanquish’. More recently, he also joined forces with CamelPhat for their massive collaboration ‘Breathe’.  Progressive house music fans, who visited Ibiza last summer to see Eric Prydz at Hï Ibiza, will undoubtedly also recall Cristoph, since both CamelPhat and Cristoph joined the Swede during his 12-week residency at the renowned club.

Cristoph first dropped his remix of deadmau5’s epic anthem ‘Not Exactly’ in his own ‘Consequence of Society 003’ mix last month, and his reworked version surely didn’t remain unnoticed. The track’s original flow and driving bass lines are kept in place, but the Brit has cranked up the pace a notch, creating a slightly more uplifting version of the tune. The result is a pretty amazing remix to one of the finest progressive classics ever produced, so a big thumbs up to Cristoph for living up to the challenge.
