While there is no dearth of talented youngsters in the electronic music industry – as most start out with production and DJing early in their teenage, it is always promising to see talent, youth and diversity brought to the front end of the conversation. Checking all these boxes, 15-year old Japanese DJ and performer Takeru fits the billing like a glove. Based in Osaka, the young DJ has just begun to make a name for himself in the Japanese dance music industry – one that has given us legendary acts such as 80KIDZ and Ken Ishii. With similar goals in his sight, Takeru is now on the lookout to impress us all with this We Rave You exclusive curation titled as the ‘New Year Mix’.

The exclusive ‘New Year mix’ features a medley of singles that bridge myriad dance music sub-genres seamlessly while maintaining a steady energy throughout its half-hour playtime. Sifting through singles such as Brooks remix of Martin Garrix‘ single ‘Dreamer’ , Mesto & Mike Williams‘ ‘Wait Another Day’, Fedde Le Grand‘s ‘Keep On Rising’ and the towering hit release titled ‘Champion Sound‘ from the production desk of Dutch maestro Nicky Romero and Teamworx, Takeru entertains thoroughly while also employing tracks from the likes of Calvin Harris, Curbi and Matroda among others. What’s more is that the mix also features three unreleased singles from his own catalog – all primed to be his debut releases as a producer.

In terms of  credentials, Takeru had the opportunity to perform at the Core Music festival last year. While opening behind the decks, the venturing talent shared the stage with Dutch acts Justin Mylo and Mesto as well as Mike Williams, Joyride, Moski and Ummet Ozcan to name a few. With such top-notch accolades already secured so early in his career, it would not come as a surprise to see Takeru rise as formidable performer in the Japanese industry in the coming years.

You can follow Takeru on Soundcloud here and on Twitter here.
