The news dance fans have been waiting for has finally dropped… The Swedish House Mafia really are heading from Miami 2 Ibiza. Having returned with a glorious comeback show in Florida last March at the 20th anniversary of Ultra Music Festival, the Swedes will return to the Balearic island this summer for a special show on Friday 26th July, as confirmed by their Instagram story this afternoon.
Having previously held a residency at Pacha in 2011, and stunning fans with iconic sets at the likes of Cafe Mambo and Ushuaïa during the rise of EDM in the early part of this past decade, the SHM Ibiza sets were like nothing the white isle had ever seen before, with tickets selling-out in seconds for huge road-block parties, with an insatiable demand from crowds worldwide heading to the global party capital to catch a glimpse of their heroes.
Though no venue has been confirmed for the performance just yet, the open air setting of Ushuaïa or the neighbouring superclub, Hï Ibiza have both been rumoured as potential destinations. With Swedish maestro Axwell headlining his own Axtone stage at Tomorrowland the very next day, and rumours circulating that SHM will bring the curtain down on Tomorrowland 2019 on the Sunday with a mainstage set, it could well be a VERY busy weekend for Monsieurs Angello, Ingrosso, and Hedfors.
To board the hype train for this hugely anticipated Ibiza return of the dance kings, here is a clip of the last time the Swedes played Ushuaïa!
