Tommy Trash & i_o – Let Me Go

After over a year without releasing a track, Tommy Trash returns with a brand new collaboration with one of the hottest rising talents i_o. The ‘Reload‘ producer dropped his track ‘Oxygen‘ back in 2017 – another i_o collab – and hasn’t dropped anything since, but now the 39 year old Australian producer is back with a fresh banger. The track, titled ‘Let Me Go‘, features vocals from UK singer/songwriter Daisy Guttridge, who featured on the duo’s last collaboration also, and is out via deadmau5’s label mau5trap.

From the get go you can hear strong influences from both producers, as the deep trance groove from i_o’s tracks pairs up nicely with Tommy’s melodic excellence, creating a truly fantastic track. Guttridge’s vocals sit nicely above the track, that has a darker progressive tone, but combines it with a smooth chord line to give the track a pulsating drive. The track veers away from the likes of ‘Reload‘ and the iconic ‘Ladi Dadi‘ remix, as Tommy Trash – real name Tommy Olsen – pushes the boundaries and works nicely with i_o – real name Garrett Lockhart – yet again producing only the most spectacular track. Though the festival feel is somewhat taken out of ‘Let Me Go‘, you can guarantee it will find its home in the club scene, whilst already receiving some early support from Above & Beyond in their Group Therapy show. The decision from mau5trap to release this fits nicely with their release pattern, as deadmau5 has taken a darker tone with some of his more recent releases. Recent news emerged around Ultra Music Festival, where it was revealed that deadmau5 would in fact play two sets, debuting his Cube 3.0 production in one whilst his darker moniker Testpilot would take centre stage in another set. Exciting times for mau5trap fans, as they continue to release the finest tracks, and push the boundaries of progressive, electro, trance, and beyond.
