Having conquered the world of EDM as both a producer and a DJ in his relatively short career, Dutch superstar Martin Garrix turned his attention to helping other up-and-comers a few years ago with the launch of his STMPD label, in addition to using it as a steady platform for his own work. The latest release on the label is ‘Help’, a trap/hip-hop affair from mysterious duo AREA21, who are not only capable of cracking out a banging tune, but they’re also actual aliens…

Well, we don’t want to disappoint those who weren’t already aware, but under alien masks the duo are of course Garrix himself and long-term collaborator Brandon Green, better known as Maejor. While Garrix may have made a name for himself writing catchy EDM bangers, his work with Green allows him to showcase his love of hip-hop and the more commercial side of electronic music, something Maejor is more than talented at, having previously worked with the likes of Iggy Azalea, Frank Ocean, and Justin Bieber. Their combined skills are certainly on show here, as ‘Help combines club-friendly RnB rhythms with pristine and highly polished production, topped off with a chart-ready vocal line.
