Axwell banger ‘Barricade’ turns 3 years old

Just when the glory days of huge EDM anthems had seemed to fizzle out, along came Axwell with his massive production ‘Barricade.’ Released on this day in 2016, the track had been teased during the Swede’s sets throughout 2015, opening with the record during both his Ibiza residency alongside Sebastian Ingrosso, and the iconic June performance at Alexandra Palace.

Fast forward to 2019 and this one is still sounding as fresh as ever! Cooked up in the Axtone kitchen, ‘Barricade’ embodies the full dynamic diversity of Axwell, with the track utilising an explosive opening before breaking down mid-production and building back up again using a slow and elongated increase in tempo.

Laced with the legendary “Breathe in, Breathe Out” lyrics, ‘Barricade’ is sure to be heard at many events this summer, with the Swedish House Mafia performing numerous times this year, including sets at Creamfields, the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, and perhaps, maybe even… Tomorrowland Weekend Two.
