Deniz Koyu – Automatic
Electronic dance music has seen a lot of changes in recent years. The peak of the big room in 2014, the future bass era in 2016 and lately the rise of hardstyle across main stages around the world. However, there is one genre that, besides some people calling it dead for years now, has remained through all the different periods of EDM: progressive house. Especially because of acts like Swedish House Mafia, Alesso, and Third Party, this genre gained fame and fans around the world who are still loyal to it. Another famous name of the progressive house scene is Deniz Koyu. The German is responsible for tracks such as ‘Solar’, ‘I Wanna Know’ together with Alesso, and ‘Paradise’ with Nicky Romero. Now, he has released a brand new incredible track: ‘Automatic’.
Like a number of his more recent tracks, ‘Automatic’ was released on Spinnin’ Records. From the start, you are greeted by signature Koyu sounds, mixed in with some nice metallic sounding synthesizers. The drop perfectly follows the build-up by picking up pace fast, making you want to move your feet as well. The following melody begins as a small spark and develops into a very melodic bassline, which almost sounds as if you are traveling into space.
With ‘Automatic’, Deniz Koyu again showcased how talented he is and how much it means to him keeping progressive house alive and well. Luckily, if he continues to deliver like that, progressive house will never die!
