David Guetta to premiere ‘Road to Jack Back’ movie in Miami

Since last year, David Guetta has been busy working in the studio under his alias Jack Back, bringing people a new underground sound which verges between techno, deep house, and tech-house. His releases have gained traction by signing to iconic labels such as Defected and Toolroom, and now, David will show us how he became Jack Back during a special movie premiere at Winter Music Conference in Miami.

The Beatport documentary ‘The Road to Jack Back’ will air on Thursday 28th March, and focuses on how, before he took world fame in the pop industry, Guetta spent his early years of DJ’ing mainly in clubs playing deep underground house music.

Explaining the alias, he said:

“Since the album represents a full cycle to me I wanted to go back to the beginning of the cycle, where I’m coming from. These are actually the type of records that come more naturally to me than pop, because I’ve done this all my life. I wanted to create something very personal. I get excited by music that is part of a culture and that’s why I wanted to make this. There is no commercial approach to it, I’m doing it for the love of music.’’

The full documentary will be available on Beatport’s YouTube channel from Friday 29th March with a special Q&A with David Guetta about Jack Back taking place on Thursday between 12pm and 12:45pm at the Faena Hotel Miami Beach.
