Teaming up for their second collab, French super-star DJ David Guetta combined forces with Dutch producer Brooks for melodic future house hit ‘Better When You’re Gone’, co-written and sung by New York pop duo Loote. With empowering lyrics and a massive festival-friendly drop, this song proves to be a smash hit. David Guetta and Protocol Recordings boss Nicky Romero are two people who have had a long history of working together, collaborating on bangers such as ‘Metropolis’ and ‘Ring the Alarm’,  so it makes sense for Nicky to lend his talents to give ‘Better When You’re Gone‘ a fresh new feel in his own Pop Edit.

Injecting his own style into the edit, Nicky Romero slows things down compared to the original song, turning the track into something brand new whilst simultaneously not straying far from David Guetta and Brooks’ original masterpiece. Rearranging the impeccably performed vocals in the track to include them in the drop – an element heavily included in pop songs – secures this track’s place as an infectious radio-friendly pop edit. With fans taking to Twitter to voice their support, it’s clear that this track is already a massive hit!

Out now on Parlophone France, check out the Nicky Romero Pop Edit of David Guetta’s collaboration with Brooks, ‘Better When You’re Gone’, and let us know what you think of the track in the comments!
