Home Uncategorized Eric Prydz teases mysterious “PR(15)DA” announcement as Pryda turns 15 years old

When it comes to top-drawer pseudonyms of first-class producers, you can’t get much better than Pryda, the alter-ego of Eric Prydz that first crashed onto the scene in 2004 with anthem after anthem appearing under the name ever since. This year sees the 15th birthday of the alias, and it seems Prydz isn’t letting it pass unnoticed, with a rather clear-yet-cryptic post on his social media channels that seems to suggest we should keep our eyes peeled this summer.

The post simply consist of some simple artwork with the familiar Pryda logo altered to read PR(15)DA with the copy only offering up “June. July. August.” Since the announcement the internet has been awash with theories, and most seem to point towards either a tour, an album, or possibly both. When the Pryda name hit 10 in 2014, the decade of releases was celebrated with a triple-EP featuring 22 unreleased tracks. Some fans are speculating that milestone might see the release of a Pryda album, and with plenty of IDs knocking around in Prydz’ sets over the past few years, it’s a theory that stacks up.

Elsewhere a Pryda tour could be on offer. Eric certainly isn’t short of dates under his other aliases – he’s doing various dates under his tougher Cirez D name alongside Adam Beyer, including shows in North America and an exclusive show at Creamfields in the UK, while he’s appearing under his own name at multiple shows across the summer, notably his sold-out HOLO show for Steel Yard London at the end of May, his Holosphere show at Tomorrowland in July, and the all new VOID show at Creamfields at the end of August. Whatever he’s got up his sleeve for Pryda 15, it’s certainly clear that wherever you are in the world, you won’t be short of a healthy dose of Prydz in the coming months.
