Swedish House Mafia’s iconic ‘Leave The World Behind’ turns 10 years old

From the opening chords, it was clear that in the form of ‘Leave The World Behind’, a true EDM classic was born. Used as the soundtrack to a golden era of prog-house hits around the early stages of ‘The Teenies’ decade, the Laidback Luke and Swedish House Mafia collaboration was actually first aired in Miami at WMC 2009.

Led by the melodic tones of Axwell, the insatiable hooks of Sebastian Ingrosso, the powerful breakdown of Steve Angello, and the explosive drop of Laidback Luke, the track became so popular that Swedish House Mafia‘s ‘Leave The World Behind‘ docu-movie in 2013 even adopted the same name as the iconic track.

With dance fans spoilt for choice with a pantheon of great hits including ‘Greyhound’, ‘One’ and ‘Antidote’ in the years that followed, it was ‘Leave The World Behind’ which really catapulted Swedish House Mafia into the public spotlight.
