The mysterious masked musician Marshmello is one of EDM’s biggest faces in today’s age. Since gaining a fast rise in popularity, he has churned out hit after hit – including two albums – but his latest tracks see him move more into the mainstream, radio-friendly side of music. Working with faces well known to a large majority of people such as Selena Gomez, Khalid and Bastille, Marshmello has a large group of famous friends who are eager to work with him, and it seems he isn’t slowing down on collaborations any time soon.
The latest release titled “Light It Up” comes in the form of another collaboration, this time with rapper Tyga and singer Chris Brown. The music video features the trio in a club setting, with Marshmello getting behind the decks whilst Tyga shows off his rap skills, followed by Chris Brown who sings the second verse whilst the pair hype up the energetic club crowd from in front of the decks, all with Marshmello’s irresistibly dance-able beat pumping throughout the entire track. It also wouldn’t be a true Marshmello music video if his logo wasn’t featured throughout the video and in this one it comes in the form of a light up birthday cake, connecting to the catchy lyrics.
