Max Cartoux ft. Mary N – Speed Of Us

For French music producer and DJ Max Cartoux, a musical career was always certain to be his destiny. At 5 years old he began learning the piano, guitar, and bass guitar, leading to his first route into musical composition. Later in life, he turned his hand to music production, and found his love for electronic music. Finding his break through tracks such as his Fedde Le Grande remix, Cartoux is now aged 22 and still rising through the ranks, with his latest track ‘Speed Of Us‘ showing his incredible ability.

Releasing the track through the Hinky label, Cartoux’s release is somewhat different to some older releases. The Frenchman – who has performed at Ultra Europe and Ministry of Sound in his career – has taken a future bass-leaning sound, with heavy emphasis on the melody. ‘Speed Of Us‘ combines elements from different genres, coupled with a powerful vocal provided by Mary N, to create a track that – like a movie – tells a story from start to finish. Samples taken from real turbo flutters, car flybys and police sirens create a car chase atmosphere, and tells the tale of a turning point in a couple’s relationship. Cartoux’s interpretation of music production goes beyond the simplicity of creating a melody and turning it into something, and instead develops from a story and provides listeners with the opportunity to hear, see, and feel his music as a storyline. This is the sign of a great artist, and the future shines bright for Max Cartoux.
