Armin van Buuren’s album ‘Intense’ turns 6 years old today
When it comes to trance, one of the most iconic names in the field is Armin van Buuren who has well established himself in the music industry throughout the past two decades that he has been active.
He has been ranked the number one DJ by DJ Mag 5 times; including four years in a row between 2007 and 2010, but he has impressively keeping his spot in the ‘Top 4 wlite’ since 2004. He is the legendary co-founder of the record label Armada Music, the host of his famous ‘A State of Trance’ show, and an essential artist at all the acknowledged EDM festivals’ stages. But can you remember the magical day when the king of ASOT announced his 5th studio album ‘Intense’? Times flies, because it was already 6 years ago…
‘Intense’ was released in May 2013, “This Is What It Feels Like“ being the first official single, featuring the Canadian singer and songwriter Trevor Guthrie. The accompanying music video by now reached more than 100 million views on YouTube and Armin was nominated for the prestigious Grammy Award for ‘Best Dance Recording’ for it. This release also marks the time when the Dutch DJ gained popularity in the commercial world, conquering the radio charts globally. The more ‘house-led’ album also includes hits like ‘Alone’ featuring Lauren Evans, ‘Turn This Love Around’ with NERVO and ‘Forever is Ours’ featuring Emma Hewitt.
Since 2013, Armin has come a long way. This January he hosted his ‘A State of Trance’ 900 live event in the Netherlands with a sold-out arena, and he keeps coming out with bangers. But for now, let’s go back in time and celebrate the 6th anniversary of “Intense’, it might be old, but it’s still gold.
