KSHMR is back with a scintillating new single, teaming up with Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Mike Waters to create; ‘My Best Life’, out now on Dharma Worldwide. The track, which strays away from the talented producer’s signature sound, retains his core elements and crystal-clear production.
Incorporating Waters’ vivid vocals and acoustic influence, Dhar seamlessly blends their two worlds together, transitioning from smooth guitars in the breaks to triumphant horns and bright vocal slices in the drops.
Speaking on the track’s creation, KSHMR told of the inspiration that helped fuel the collaboration;
“This song, made by me and Mike Waters, is about social media and how it has become a tool for measuring ourselves. We talked about how it can be freeing to submit to the fact that somebody will always have nicer things/more money/etc. and from there the lyrics came together.”
While the track is a ways away from his signature festival anthems, Dhar took to Twitter to express his love for the new collaboration, while acknowledging the single indeed takes a step into another direction. However, this isn’t the first midtempo single KSHMR has blessed his fans with. Last year saw the release of ‘Wildcard’ with Sidnie Tipton – an easy-listening guitar-inspired track which reached #1 on the Electro House Beatport within a week of its release. Can ‘My Best Life’ go one better?
